2025 Season Update

Happy New Year 204 Grassroots Motocross Community!

This is a quick email to explain some of the changes we have going into the 2025 racing season.

Firstly, we would like to start by thanking Ken for his years of dedication to the sport and running 204 Grassroots Motocross. Under his direction, we managed to have a series through 2020 -2021 while other provinces were unable to host races. Ken started racing in 1975 in Manitoba, and also served as the president of the Manitoba Motocross Association in the early 2000’s. His contributions to the sport have been immense, and he is directly responsible for sustaining the sport over many years, as well as being a mentor and role-model to the community.

We want to wish Ken all the best in his moto retirement, and we sincerely hope that he will have time to participate in a race (like he said he wanted to for the past 5 years).

Secondly, the race promoters are currently working on brand new things for 2025. Raceday will probably not look different to many of you, but behind the scenes there will be a few changes. Since Ken is leaving big shoes to fill, everyone is stepping up to take on a little more responsibility. The promoters will be forming a new corporation and will be the new governing body for the sport in Manitoba. I (Stefan) will still be assisting remotely with the digital side of things as well as providing race day support. Gail will continue her role in staging while also taking on more of Ken’s previous duties (as she has already done during the final rounds of 2024).

With the new structure we need a new name as "204 Grassroots Motocross" will retire with Ken. We are asking you, our moto community, to help us with that. We will be hosting a contest for a brand new name for our organization where the winner will get their 2025 membership for free. So keep your feeds refreshed as we will be sharing more info very soon!

Thank you everyone for your continued support!
